The Palikū Academy of Performing Arts has set its sights on taking an East Coast Tour to New York and Florida in the summer of 2012. The group will have performance opportunities in both cities at city landmarks and venues which will ultimately lead up to a memorable performance and parade in Disney World! Attending Broadway musicals, workshops, backstage tours, shopping and visiting other theme parks are also on the agenda. PAPA has been very fortunate to have such a talented group of performers, dedicated team of parent volunteers and overall a family that is supportive, caring and loving toward one another over the years. The opportunity to travel with an assemblage like this is truly once-in-a-lifetime. We will be holding auditions to fill the cast. The application and audition process will be more rigorous than usual due to the time, effort and exposure the group will have to endure. Trainings, meetings, rehearsals, promotional performances, etiquette classes and more await the cast. We are also seeking parents to assist with chaperoning responsibilities. Each family is expected to be active participants in committees and fundraisers. We understand that there will be significant financial obligations, scheduling commitments and dedication to this endeavor, so please review the following requirements. If your family is willing and able to make this commitment, interested performers and their parents/guardians must attend our informational meeting on Sunday, January 16 at 4pm at the Kapunahala Elementary School Library. We will discuss the tentative itinerary, answer any questions, and will distribute the necessary forms.
